About us

A research practice, not an agency.

Sun BioMed specialises in healthcare research consulting and research methodology, with a growing practice in AI development and applied science.

The work began in clinical laboratory science and molecular diagnostics, and grew through years of consulting on study design, data analysis, and research methodology for hospitals, universities, and companies. That methodological core has not changed.

What has changed is the toolset. Sun BioMed now operates independently from Daejeon and directs the same research discipline toward AI agents for research work, applied AI education, and the development of laboratory instruments and patent-oriented everyday technologies.

Company

A decade of healthcare research work.

Sun BioMed was established in February 2016, moved its base to Daejeon, and now operates as an independent research practice.

    Sun BioMed established

    The company was founded with Park Sun-gu appointed as CEO. Operations began in Seoul.

  2. January 2018

    Seoul office relocation

    The office moved to Yeouido, Seoul.

  3. January 2019

    Daejeon presence established

    A Daejeon branch opened at the Daejeon Trade Center, extending the practice into the central region.

  4. May 2023

    Daejeon headquarters

    Headquarters relocated to the Seonkyung Building in Dong-gu, Daejeon, consolidating the central-region base.

  5. 2026

    Independent practice

    Sun BioMed now operates independently, directing its research discipline toward AI agents, applied AI education, and technology development.

How does a project usually start?

Send an email with the area you are interested in and a short description of the problem. We discuss the scope, the timeline, and what a useful outcome would look like before any work begins.

Which languages do you work in?

Consultation, documentation, and correspondence are handled in English and Korean. The site itself can be read in other languages through the translation control at the top of the page.

What do you use for data analysis?

Python is the main working environment today, with R used where it fits and AI-assisted workflows alongside both. The approach is chosen to fit the study design rather than the other way round.

Do you train a whole team, or only individuals?

Both. Applied AI programmes and data analysis training are designed around a specific team's working material, and lectures are also available for university faculty.
